European security agencies recognize the high level
performance of the double action Walther P5 pistol. More than
40,000 P5 pistols serve with German and Dutch police.
Unsurpassed German workmanship and engineering are
the norm here, with emphasis on efficiency and functionality:
a serious arm for the professional.

The Salient Features of the Walther P5
A modern pistol concept for law-enforcement and
self-defense purposes. Incorporating a new handling and safety
system with four automatic safety functions.
Double-action trigger pattern and elimination of
manual safeties provide rapid reaction times. A shot can only
be discharged if the trigger is pulled completely through.
The P5 can be carried safely in the loaded condition,
the firing pin is automatically retained. The decocking lever
permits the cocked hammer to be lowered into the safety intercept
notch without risk.
Adequate firepower is provided by two magazines,
each with 8 rounds.
Proverbial Walther quality; extended service life
and absolute dependability.
Compact appearance and sleek lines.
Rapid target acquisition with high contrast sight
elements and white pickup markings.
Simple takedown into four main assemblies without
using tools.
4 Independent Safety Functions
The P5 features four built-in safety functions.
- Downward retention of the firing pin.
- Recess in the hammer striking face.
- Hammer safety intercept notch.
- Locking safety (disconnector).
The hammer cannot strike the firing pin unless the
slide is fully in battery and the trigger is pulled completely
through.
Therefore, the P5 is safeguarded against impact,
dropping or inadvertent hammer tripping when thumb-cocking the
weapon. All safeties remain fully effective when the decocking
lever is thumbed to decock the action. The double-action pattern
provides immediate first-shot potential when the weapon is loaded
and decocked.
