Walther P99

James Bond is now carrying the Walther P99. A 9mm and S&W .40 caliber weapon, the P99 is fast becoming the most sought-after handgun around. It is built with a polymer frame. It is thin, and can be concealed adequately for the undercover assignment. If you are a law-enforcement officer, the P99 will carry 16 rounds of 9mm ammunition. For the average citizen, the metal magazine will carry 10+1 rounds.

A unique characteristic about the P99 is that the grip can be modified with interchangeable parts to fit your own hand size. It was ergonomically designed by Moroni of Italy who designed the Olympic pistol grip. There are three inserts (S, M, L) that can be easily and readily changed for ones' own hand size.

As stated in the latest Walther brochure:"The P99 has three independent, automatic safeties: the trigger safety, the decock safety and the internal striker safety. It is also equipped with a cocking indicator and a loaded chamber indicator. It can be decocked by pressing the decocker mounted flush on top of the slide."

The firing mechanism is both single- and double-action.The P99 can easily be converted to a double-action only handgun. It is also hammerless so it will not catch on clothing or holsters. There are no operating levers which would also hinder retrieval from a holster.
